In order to continue its legacy of Rowing not Drifting, the Venice High School Volleyball Program needs your help!
Under the leadership of Coach and Program Director Allen Hunt, The Gondolier Volleyball Team has been a model of consistency for more than thirty years. Both the Boys and Girls teams have won multiple City Championships during that time. After graduating from Venice in 1988, Coach Hunt served as an assistant coach under Coach Myra Einberg (recently inducted into the CIF-LA City Section Hall of Fame) for four years. In 1992, Coach Hunt became the Head Coach and since 1996 he has worked as a math teacher at Venice. The Volleyball Program is one of the strongest athletic programs at VHS and is known and respected throughout the City Section. Raul Aviles (’08) is a former VHS player and currently serves as the Co-Head Coach for both the Boys and Girls teams and is in line to take over the program for Coach Hunt.
Running a top flight athletic program at a public school is a challenge. You can help us meet that challenge by supporting the student athletes with a financial donation. Your support will cover the extensive expenses involved in running such a prestige program, including:
~Travel and lodging to out of state tournaments for both the Boys and Girls teams.
Further, Coach Hunt is working to develop a Venice Volleyball Scholarship to be awarded each year to a Senior Boy and Girl who personifies the principles of the Gondolier Volleyball Program. The program needs money to cover the expenses involved in participating in tournaments—both the boys and girls travel out of state to prestigious events.
No donation is too small (or too big!).
The Gondolier Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all contributions are tax-deductible.
